Welcome to the Friends of the Turrill Sculpture Garden web page!

Summertown 2000 was started in 1998 to raise funds to build a local public sculpture garden behind Summertown Library in South Parade.  This was achieved in May 2000 when the Turrill Garden was opened thanks to the support of many generous local donors and especially the Venables family of Shepherd and Woodward.   Now we continue to support the garden maintenance but also to work generally for the improvement of Summertown and to enrich the quality of life in the community.  The Society changed its name to the Friends of the Turrill Sculpture Garden in November 2004.

We  have put on various events throughout the year for everyone to enjoy locally.  The more members we have the more we can do including lectures, quizzes, dinners etc.   Details of all these events and more are in the biannual Newsletter.

On this site you can find out more about the garden, and the exhibitions and events going on in it or you can find out more about the Friends of the Turrill Sculpture Garden. It is supported by many individuals in and around Summertown as well as by our Corporate Members; we do hope you will join us in this work.  Please contact us and/or send us feedback about the Friends of the Turrill Sculpture Garden and this web site.

The garden/library are at South Parade, Oxford, OXON, OX2 7JN.
